Family secret: Memorial(tm) while on vacation in Cuba
by Quotes inreading simon's thread on the memorial(tm), made me realize something, that i have to share with the gang.
this is 100% true.. in the early 1990s, my parents (father = elder/secretary) took a week's vacation in cuba.. due to either poor planning, or "neglect of spiritual things(tm)", they realized they were going to be in cuba for the memorial.
(can you say whoops!!!???).

Go to Cuba through Cancun, reenter USA with birth cert and Driver licence. Don't stay in a hotel in cuba but a private home (casa particular). Cost is $25 to $30 a night USD. You can't use credit cards or travellers cheques from US companies and should bring cash. Better to bring euros or other currency as there is a 10% exchange fee to exchange US dollars to Cubans convertable pesos.

Need Ideas - Parenting Problem/Question
by exjwshell inhere's a question to all of you parents out there.... do any of you, especially those who were born and raised as a jw, have trouble parenting your non-jw children?...
i've been "out" for 18 years and since then have married and had two children.
i find it incredibly difficult to not parent "witness style".

Well.... you love your child and care for him. Hopefully you raised him right and he is a good kid. You gotta have trust sometimes. It isn't easy being a parent and most kids don't reralize it until they are older and are parents. Perhaps set some boundaries or set up communication for when you child leaves and don't freak out too much so that way everyone is happy. There is nothing wrong with amny things the witnesses do to raise kids. Overly permissive isn't always good but then again neither is the iron fist.

Find the area code and find the province, next find the loal area. Then call domino's pizza and say you want two large pizzas delivered. They will then ask for your phone number to look you up, give his and then they will confirm your address by saying delivery to "123 Elm St?". If not a pizza shop a few delivery food places do this. Easy way to find unlisted reverse addresses.
I always got my man. Used it to track people down. -

Leading double life
by JustTickledPink ini ran into a young jw i hadn't seen in probably 12 years, anyways, she was the presiding overseer's daughter, perfect little jw... she's now 25 yoa, she is still an active witness and in fact a sympathizer to their crap but dressed in a low cut top, belly showing, carrying a beer, trolling for guys out a hot spot on a friday night with a "worldly" friend.. she talked to me for 5 mins and told me she had been df'd for a year but how horrible it was, she is reinstated and doing good..... but everything about her looks said she wasn't a good little jw.. i think more and more hypocrites are being raised in the organization.
i wouldn't be able to stand leading a double life, i would much rather be honest and not hiding who and what i am... but there are more young jws, including ones i would never suspect, that are jws by day, and regular people at night.
i think they are falling into the "sunday morning christians" mentality and carrying tons of guilt around with them.. i just wish they would wake up.

Imagine you are trying to stop human beings from being blown to bits and pieces. You infiltrate a terrorist organizasion and give information to the country's federal authorities (FBI) in hope of stopping more killing. You give them all the info on groups in Miami who are plotting to murder more people to further their cause. You do this over a period of a few years to stem the tide of killing innocent people who are killed largely due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
SURPRISE!!! You are in the USA so... due to politics, you are arrested for espionage because the killing and terrorist acts are ok because the government doesn't like the country who is subject to the attacks.
